Injections i have done

In april i took botox for the first time. I had a lot of headache in the front of my head,  and i got it because my muscles were so tense because i was stressed them all the time. In February and March i was taking the license in really short time, so i had so much to read and practice, so after that i was tense all the time even after i passed the drivers test and finally got the license. Anyway, i took botox and the the tension almost disappeared.

Now in December i did it again. It lasted from April to October-november, so it was just in time for a new round. Off corse, i also did it because i liked the effect it had on my face, i look younger, hurray! Not that I’m old or anything, but still -i’m 27¬†and the first lines have arrived, but now they are gone.

I know many think it’s too early and blah blah blah, but seriously -do as you please and what feels right for you. Many don’t even see it, so you can just keep it as a secret if you don’t want anybody to judge you ūüėČ

I have a serious doctor that do my injections, and i talked about what i wanted and listened to her advises before we started. This was at clinic i Oslo called Klinikk Vital. Everybody that works there (that i have met) are very welcoming and professional.

I got delayed to my appointment because my flight form north to south was delayed by 40 minutes,But the sweet doctor took her lunch break earlier then she normally do, so i could still come, even if i was pretty late. That meant so much to me.

I want to recommend this clinic to everybody that wants to do anything from pedicure to laser removal of tattoos -or like me, Botox ūüôā You can contact them at ¬†post@klinikk-vital.no or¬†(+47) 22 69 69 20

My doctor is Dr. Shaghayegh Pouremamali, a very sweet woman that i trust 100%.

The 3 first pictures are from April, this time i didn’t have anybody with me so there were no pictures taken.

Here you can see where my lines go, even if this is exaggerated this is how i was walking around when i was tense and stressed. And! if i forgot to use a primer before applying foundation, these lines were easy to see after a few hours.  IMG_6397 IMG_6398

First injection, a tiny sting, but not uncomfortable at all. Though i was a bit nervous.

I love the result, and mostly i love how i feel with it.

While i was there i also did my lips. One side is a bit fuller then the other so i wanted to adjust¬†that. Naturally i have a bit “duck lips”, so i didn’t dear to fill so much. Dr.Pouremamali used a filler called Juvederm with contains water based gel and hyaluronic acid ¬†-that we already produce in our body, so nothing to worry about.

When i smile the difference between left and right side of my lips are almost nothing. but you can see it a bit in the angle of the mouth. She only filled on the sides not in the middle.¬†juvederm des Very pleased with my “new” lips ūüôāIMG_2633¬†If you want more information you can contact Klinikk Vital¬†and they tell you everything you want and need to know:)

How to treat your skin now

Our skin and hair needs different products for the different seasons. If your moisturizer don’t “work” anymore and you feel that your skin is dryer then usual, even if you used cream on a regular base, this is the reason: climatic¬†change. Only way to treat this is to give after mother nature and invest in a cream that fit your climate.

When the air is getting colder, our skin gets dryer and our face feels stiff after a shower -or after cleansing with a cleanser for oily skin. In autumn i have to peel my skin much more often then in the spring and summer. But if i have one area where the skin is extra dry, i tend to peel that area not the whole face, like now i have a dry spot at one cheek.

I do the same with my body, i must scrub it more often when the weather gets colder,  after i use body butter or body oil. Normally its not problem if i forget to use moisturizing products after the shower, but now i need it on a different level..

For my face i will use these products this season:

I use products that i like both consistence and scent, -thats why is use different brands. For optimal result talk with a dermatologist.

And body:

Beautytips!

Manage dry hair ends:  Take a small dose of coconut oil between your fingers and massage into the hair to provide proper moisture and shine.

health-hair

Soften cuticles: If your cuticles are dry and split , apply the oil twice daily. Expensive products promise the same result.

Scrub body: Coconut oil is a good base to use in scrubs you create yourself . Mix oil with sugar and use scrub skin in the shower for a silky result.

Give moisture to lips: Apply the oil on your lips before going to bed and let it work overnight .

Remove makeup:¬†If you have trouble removing the last remnants of mascara, use a small dose of oil to remove everything. Avoid getting coconut oil in direct contact with eyes. -I usually take a small spoon of coconut oil in a cup, add 1 tbs of water, 20 seconds in the microwave. You will probably not use all, so just “heat” it up the next day to reuse it.

Removing makeup

Avoid irritation by shaving: Drop shaving cream for the benefit of coconut oil. Not only counteracts irritation Рit is also much easier to clean razor blade afterwards.

Dry scalp: Gently massage the oil into your scalp and leave on for five minutes. Rinse out and use regularly to repair.

Prevent wrinkles and treat acne:Use oil around the eyes to prevent wrinkles and to prevent dark circles under the eyes. Mix green tea in to the oil and it will help the bags under your eyes as well.

Body moisturizer: Butter coconut oil on your body right after your shower , when your pores are still open , and the oil will be absorbed better in the skin.

Soothe sunburned skin: If you are sunburned , you can calm the burned skin with the oil for a soothing effect.

Botox for headache

Sounds like the most stupid excuse to get botox ever, but it really works. People with migraine ¬†and headaches can finally get help when medicine don’t work any longer. I have a special eye condition that makes my eyes work harder to cooperate, so when i am concentrating i easy get headache.¬†headaches

Botulinum toxin and headache

Originally identified as a toxin from Clostridium botulinum bacteria, Botox was first used in 1977 to treat strabismus, a problem with the eye muscles. The Food and Drug Administration approved it in 1989 for this purpose. When it was later used to treat uncontrolled muscle spasms in the face, patients had fewer wrinkles in the skin overlying the treated muscle. Doctors started using Botox for cosmetic reasons in 1996, and the FDA approved this use in 2002.

Research the office you choose for licensed injectors.  Some offices use medical assistants or aestheticians. Make sure a doctor is available on site in case you have a question or problem.

Consults in some offices are with sales consultants verses actually meeting and personalizing your needs with the injector

What is it like? The frown area is the most common area and usually requires 5 small pokes with a very small needle. People are pleasantly surprised how easy it is.

Does it last? It takes about 10 days for the full response and it will last around 4 months but many people are often able to go longer.

The degree of improvement also depends on how deep the creases are when you start, but everyone will improve.

The good and bad news: Botox wears off. Most people love it and will repeat. If you happen to get a rare side effect, Botox will wear off and everything will go back to normal.

Why get Botox: A)¬†Prevention ‚Äď Botox slows down motion that creates creases and will help aging at any age. B) Relaxation ‚Äď the most common reason I hear is, ‚ÄúMy kids tell me I look mad all the time,‚ÄĚ there are even studies that people feel better with Botox.¬†C) Lift ‚Äď depending on which way certain muscles pull, Botox can give you a lift to the eyes and corners of the mouth and help you look more rested.

Other uses: migraines, hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), bladder spasms, cerebral palsy, muscle spasms and more to come.

There is the areas they inject botox for pail relief

injection-sites

Botox Is Most Commonly Used on the Wrinkles Between the Eyebrows
This area is called the glabella. The muscles between the eyebrows are called the corrugators and are useful for only one purpose: to create a fearful expression. Called vestigial muscles, they were at one time important because the scowling appearance scared away enemies, telegraphing an imminent attack. Let us hope that humans don’t need these muscles anymore.

botox2

In the first picture i am contracting the facial muscles between my eyebrows, in the second picture i’m relaxed. I still have movement in my upper forehead, and i can raise my eyebrows. I just can’t contract the “glabella” muscle anymore…

When the botox was injected, the pressure in the forehead became minimized, i felt a pressure-relief right away. The picture over is 6 days apart. Normally it take 2-10 days for optimal effect and it last for about 3 months.

This cosmetic procedure was preformed at Beauté Adorée in Oslo, by Dr. Shaghayegh Pouremamali.

The foundation of foundation

How do you choose the right foundation?

choose-the-right-foundation

The liquid that makes your skin glow,  the natural mask that makes your skin look flawless, the helper that makes your skin look more even.

Well, tha is if you do it right. We all know or know of somebody that clearly uses the wrong foundation shade. When i think about it i know two at the top of my head. One is wearing the wrong shade, she look gray. I don’t understand how she can put it on day in and day out (she’s been looking gray the last 4 years i think). The other one i know that’s using the wrong foundation, is a girl with nice skin -but too much foundation. The shade is ok, but the quantity is over the top, also because when you have great skin you should not cover it up with a thick layer of foundation, but use a thinner/more liquid type to “help” your skin get that natural glow.

Then the hard question: What foundation type should i use?

foundation types

There is so many types, so in the makeup jungle it is not easy to find the perfect foundation just by looking at the product shelves. You must try them. The best tip i can give you is: Think about what you want from using a foundation, is it a more even look, cover up acnes and scars or is it to just look more awake and radiant? Because if you want to look like you have loots of makeup on this is the first step to make it look like that. I want my skin to look as natural flawless as possible, so i use BB creams and mineral makeup. The only bad thing about mineral makeup is that in the winter i feel its to dry for my skin and then i change to a liquid foundation.

My favorite foundations:

Clinique Supermoisture. This was for me the first BB cream. It’s very light on the skin and gives lots of moist. Perfect for young skin.

supermoisture

Vichy BB cream Idéalia: Silky smooth, and no feeling of wearing makeup

vichy-idealia-bb-cream_0

Bare Minerals: How i love this one, i covers what you need, and still leaves a natural look. But its not so good on dry winter skin (like my skin now)

bare-minerals-original-foundation

Clinique SuperBalanced foundation: The prefect friend if you have a pimple breakout or you have more to cover. It is good on adult skin and it works its magic on oily skin. It is superbalancing your skin!

Alway remember to try the foundation on your jawline not your hand (!!!) If it blends in with the skin on your neck and face -it’s the right shade!

Detox -A beauty remedy

Clear, radiant skin requires more than lotions and potions, no matter how religiously you baste yourself. Those products help, of course, but to have beautiful skin you really need to cleanse your whole body, inside and out.

Detox diets are intended to cleanse the body of toxins and waste products that accumulate from the air we breathe, the chemicals we use and the foods we eat. Many detox diets will help you lose weight as a result of calorie and food restrictions.  Detox diets may also help improve the health and appearance of your skin. The benefits of detoxing are not scientifically proven, and eating a well-balanced diet with regular exercise is the ideal method to achieve health benefits.

Water should be the primary beverage of choice in a healthy skin detox diet as it helps flush toxins from the body. This clear fluid is calorie-free, has no fat and no added sugars that can contribute to weight gain and poor digestion. Water helps push waste materials and undigested foods through the digestive tract for elimination. Although water detoxes the body, we may need a little help from food.

Food that detoxes the skin:

Beetroot

Beets are rich in vitamins B3, B6, C and beta-carotene that optimally fire up detoxification process.
Avocados

Avocados are a powerhouse of antioxidants, which are known to show the harmful toxins a way out of your body.

Apples

Apples are high in soluble and insoluble fibre that soaks up toxins and waste and throws it out of your body.

Pomegranates

Besides detoxification, this red-coloured fruit is also rich in anthocyanins, an antioxidant, which guard you against the risks of inflammation, heart disease, and diabetes.

Lemons

Lemon is the most popular among detox foods as it flushes toxins out of our bodies with immense ease.

Garlic

Garlic is crucial for detoxification as it is high in sulphur content that is integral in neutralising toxins and heavy metals until they are excreted out of the body.

Ginger

It is said that a detox plan is incomplete without ginger. Compounds called gingerols and shogaols promote detoxification by speeding up the movement of food in the intestines.

Cabbages

This green cruciferous veggie is rich in sulphur that breaks down toxic substances.

Pimple rescue, the daily steps matters.

Ah this is so me.. though i have learned to squeeze ¬†it more “softly” so i don’t start to bleed. ¬†Still, they say that its better to let i be, i just can’t do that.
oh-no-i-have-a-zit-copy

Instead i try to keep my skin as healthy as possible. I cleanse my face every day, i scrub twise a week and i use mud masks and hydration masks to keep it fresh and clean. Sounds like a lot of work? For me it really isn’t. I always have my hair mask in, facial mask on at the same time as I’m ¬†shaving my legs.. ¬†Multitasker ūüėČ
