Sounds like the most stupid excuse to get botox ever, but it really works. People with migraine and headaches can finally get help when medicine don’t work any longer. I have a special eye condition that makes my eyes work harder to cooperate, so when i am concentrating i easy get headache.
Botulinum toxin and headache
Originally identified as a toxin from Clostridium botulinum bacteria, Botox was first used in 1977 to treat strabismus, a problem with the eye muscles. The Food and Drug Administration approved it in 1989 for this purpose. When it was later used to treat uncontrolled muscle spasms in the face, patients had fewer wrinkles in the skin overlying the treated muscle. Doctors started using Botox for cosmetic reasons in 1996, and the FDA approved this use in 2002.
Research the office you choose for licensed injectors. Some offices use medical assistants or aestheticians. Make sure a doctor is available on site in case you have a question or problem.
Consults in some offices are with sales consultants verses actually meeting and personalizing your needs with the injector
What is it like? The frown area is the most common area and usually requires 5 small pokes with a very small needle. People are pleasantly surprised how easy it is.
Does it last? It takes about 10 days for the full response and it will last around 4 months but many people are often able to go longer.
The degree of improvement also depends on how deep the creases are when you start, but everyone will improve.
The good and bad news: Botox wears off. Most people love it and will repeat. If you happen to get a rare side effect, Botox will wear off and everything will go back to normal.
Why get Botox: A) Prevention – Botox slows down motion that creates creases and will help aging at any age. B) Relaxation – the most common reason I hear is, “My kids tell me I look mad all the time,” there are even studies that people feel better with Botox. C) Lift – depending on which way certain muscles pull, Botox can give you a lift to the eyes and corners of the mouth and help you look more rested.
Other uses: migraines, hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), bladder spasms, cerebral palsy, muscle spasms and more to come.
There is the areas they inject botox for pail relief
Botox Is Most Commonly Used on the Wrinkles Between the Eyebrows
This area is called the glabella. The muscles between the eyebrows are called the corrugators and are useful for only one purpose: to create a fearful expression. Called vestigial muscles, they were at one time important because the scowling appearance scared away enemies, telegraphing an imminent attack. Let us hope that humans don’t need these muscles anymore.
In the first picture i am contracting the facial muscles between my eyebrows, in the second picture i’m relaxed. I still have movement in my upper forehead, and i can raise my eyebrows. I just can’t contract the “glabella” muscle anymore…
When the botox was injected, the pressure in the forehead became minimized, i felt a pressure-relief right away. The picture over is 6 days apart. Normally it take 2-10 days for optimal effect and it last for about 3 months.
